Cloud Computing
One of the biggest IT challenges being faced by agencies today involves the management of large and ever increasing amounts a data, often call big data. Big data can come in the form of traditional data sources such a data bases or it can include sensors, signals intelligence (intercepting foreign communications and electronic signals) and military IT systems including those of intelligence and operational communities. Rather than reducing input or subjugating excessive data to manage the information overload, ISS turns large amounts of disparate data into a customer asset.
Once a customer’s data is established in an extensible, managed cloud infrastructure, it’s easier for other entities to share information regardless of the systems or networks they have deployed. By utilizing ISS solutions such as Natural Query Language and its WebTAS’s Query Panel, customers are able to leverage structured and unstructured data to anticipate and answer questions key to solving complex intelligence problems. As the system evolves, it is then possible to perform pattern analysis and create predictive models to draw conclusions that can be useful to communities across the Department of Defense and other national agencies.
ISS’s cloud solutions offer ubiquitous data access and visibility by taking an open source, standards based architectural approach to cloud creation and data sharing. As with all ISS solutions, the cloud solution leverages a common data access approach to gain a collective understanding of the threat environment so that only pertinent, actionable information is delivered to end users. ISS cloud solutions make big data mission-worthy.
